Nelson Mandela passed away at his home in south africa today – 05/12/2013 at 20.45 at the grand old age of 95 years. What a man, what a legacy. I am watching the news and documentary following this announcement several hours ago and i am in awe of his legacy.

I wish i had met this amazing man whose unassuming manner and wise words brought people of all kinds together, who in the truest christian sense has shown what it means to forgive thy enemy. He held himself with remarkable dignity and humility yet, two contradictory characteristics seemed to emanate from him. Both gentleness and strength.

The world will mourn now. my role in this new future without Madiba is to make sure that my children are aware of his fight and can share some of his values by making them my own. We can all be a little better if we carry a peace of Nelson Mandela with us. Among his many great quotes, one that resonates most with me isĀ  “It always seems impossible until it is done,”

So letting the sky be the limit i am saddened by his death but i will simultaneously rejoice and celebrate his life and what he achieved.

RIP Nelson Mandela 1918-2013
